The Blazer Band has been a consistent finalist in SCBDA State Championships for 24 consecutive years, participating in several BOA Regional events. The Ridge View Blazer Band has received numerous accolades and awards, including top three placements at the State Championships in 2002, 2014, 2015, 2019. The Blazer Band has served as a featured band in the Philadelphia & Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parades.
Ridge View’s top concert ensembles have been selected as featured ensembles at the South Carolina Music Educators State Convention on five occasions (2000, 2004, 2015, 2021, 2024); the USC Band Clinic on three occasions (2001, 2005, 2021); the University of Southern Mississippi Band Clinic; the Bands of America National Concert Band Festival; and the 2020 U.S. Army Band’s “President’s Cup” Band Invitational in Washington, D.C.
Ridge View band students are also involved in Region and All State Bands, the University of SC Band Clinic, Winthrop University Band Invitational, Coastal Carolina University Band Clinic, and the SC Youth Philharmonic.
The Ridge View ensembles have been under the direction of Grayson Cribb and Matthew Page since July of 2024.
